Meet the Quilter

Hi,

My name is Susan Slattery and I live in Jarrettsville, Maryland with my husband of over 30 years. I have been a seamstress, making garments and accessories since the age of eight. I made my first quilt, a simple king sized hand tied, more than 25 years ago. I made a few small quilts through the early years. While I have enjoyed making clothing items and home decor my entire life, my quilting hobby really jumped into high gear around 2008. Since then I just haven't been able to stop! No one told me how addictive quilting can be, or how much fun. :) I belong to Quilting On The Line Quilt Guild which meets in Norrisville, MD. If you live in the area, please stop by and visit our guild sometime.

A couple of years ago, I decided that I didn't want to send my quilts to the longarmer. I wanted to BE the longarmer. I am just so thrilled with my decision to invest in an Innova® longarm machine with AutoPilot™. In addition to my longarm, I also own a Juki TL98Q (the best little piecing machine ever), a Husqvarna Viking embroidery machine, a Bernina 16-needle commercial embroidery machine, a serger, and a few other sewing machines. For me, the perfect day is one filled with piecing, embroidering or quilting!

I am so delighted with my Innova® that I decided to work with Virginia Longarm, the Innova® Distribution and Training Center for my region, as a sales representative. It is exciting that I get to do what I love - quilt and tell other people about quilting. My background is with computer software and IT consulting and support. I still work with that on a limited basis, but quilting is so much more fun! I always look foward to meeting other quilt ethusiasts, and do hope that we get the opportunity to meet one another soon.

Thanks for stopping by my site and Happy Quilting!

Susan
